When Donald Trump isn’t bombing in press conferences, he’s bombing Syrian military targets, and as usual for Republicans, doing so without Congressional approval. But did he personally give the order to drop MOAB?
This wasn’t just another airstrike—this was the Mother of All Bombs, 21,000 pounds of non-nuclear GBU-43 explosion, the largest non-nuclear weapon ever used in the military’s history. An MC-130 aircraft dropped the MOAB (Massive Ordnance Air Blast) bomb on an area known to be ISIS militants, specifically, the Achin district of Nangarhar, which is near the border of Pakistan.
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer would not say either way if Trump gave the order, nor is it known if the planned attack dated back to the Obama administration. What we do know is that U.S. Forces already had authorization to drop the bomb, even without presidential approval.
The bomb did carry out its purpose—to disrupt the movements of ISIS militants. But the word is still out and whether or not innocent civilians were also hit during the huge explosion.
Supposedly, US Army General John W Nicholson stated that the attack was carefully planned so as to avoid risk coming to U.S. or Afghan forces in the area.
We also don’t know yet just how damaging the bomb was to ISIS’ military force…but we know it was damaging to the earth! The bomb is so huge, Retired Lt. Col. Rick Francona just told CNN it would literally “feel like a nuclear weapon” because of the magnitude of the blast.
Although MOAB made headlines and outraged people all over the world, the plan had been in effect for some time and the bomb was actually developed way back in 2003. It was even tested in Florida…because you know, Florida of all places surely needs more heat and insanity.
While we can’t prove Trump gave the careless order yet, his war-mongering administration is certainly living up to the doom and gloom predicted.
