Mike Pence and Donald Trump both sent a warning to Kim Jong Un: You saw what we did in Syria…do not test us.

Kim Jong Un, the Donald Trump of North Korea apparently, has stated that his country will start a nuclear war with the United States if there is even the slightest provocation.

We all feared the scenario of Trump with access to nuclear codes and now it appears the moment is at hand…

But are we really at the brink of World War III or is it all for show?  Is this a ruse by Trump to distract from his own scandals at home?

That may be some of it, but we also know China has great influence over North Korea, some even going so far as to state North Korea IS China testing a proxy war with the United States.

North Korea has everything to lose, if it goes against China’s bottom line.  Kim Jong Un, as angry as he is, has to at least understand how important China’s support is to his country.  If he were to drop nuclear bombs against the U.S., it’s highly unlikely China would step in to battle the whole world, since most other countries feel threatened by nuclear warfare coming from an isolated loose cannon.  It’s safe to say that if Kim Jong Un is the pit bull of aggression, China wields the leash.

One wrong move and Kim is the only person in the world more hated than Donald Trump!

The real question is, if Trump is willing to drop a nuclear bomb first and turn the world against the United States.  If he were to take the U.S. into full out war, he wouldn’t receive much support from the list of allies he’s alienated in just four months.  He probably wouldn’t even receive help from Russia since they have an interest in Syria and an alliance with Assad.

America fighting a war with North Korea is simply bad for business—and would probably result in multiple countries putting sanctions on the United States for doing a total Kim Jong Un-like move.

What we are seeing right now is a mirror image of a psychotic man screaming at himself—Donald Trump is afraid of being the first president in two generations to start a World War and Kim is afraid of the U.S. invading his country.  They are both waging an over-the-top war of words, fighting for their own survival.

Perhaps Kim Jong Un knows that if he presses on, consistently but not too hard, that Trump may eventually self-destruct, impeaching himself or resigning so he can go to Mar A Lago and golf full time.

Ultimately, China is the babysitter of both Trump and Kim, and is watching these two international lightweights vie for its attention.  Trump wants a better trade deal and Kim wants continued protection.

Just as with economy, the military future of the world is really in China’s hands at the moment.  At least until we get a real president that understands the nuances of diplomacy.

What do you think?  Does China see an advantage in another World War or are they playing the waiting game?
