This morning Ivanka Trump attended a meeting along with the Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel. Trump’s daughter claimed during the meeting that she receives, and never has received, ‘special’ treatment over her brothers.
Read Ivanka’s exact words below:
“As a daughter I can speak on a very personal level, knowing that he encouraged me and enabled me to thrive.”
Progress Tribune reported:
Ivanka was answering a question from the panel moderator Miriam Meckel about her father’s recent comments about women, and was regarding Trump’s statements from the past, which includes calling some women “bimbos” and “fat pigs” , and how those comments stirred up controversy during his campaign.
Ivanka made a failed attempt to justify her father’s comments in front if the international group on Tuesday morning.
“I think the thousands of women who have worked with and for my father for decades when he was in the private sector are a testament to his belief and solid conviction in the potential of women and their ability to do the job as well as any man.”
Merkel looked like she came down with a bad case of WTH as Ivanka praised her father’s past record and comments regarding women.
President Trump and Merkel don’t have the best relational track record. The two have had more than a couple awkward exchange of words, including her visit recently to the White House, and when Trump refused her a hand shake. Let’s not forget Trump has also accused Merkel of “ruining Germany”.
