President Trump’s son-in-law just recently exposed Trump’s monstrous lie to the entire country.
But honestly — his voter base should’ve known from the beginning he couldn’t be trusted.
For Obama’s entire presidency, Trump pushed the “birther” conspiracy theory, claiming that Obama wasn’t a natural-born citizen and therefore, shouldn’t be president. He did it right up until the end of his campaign, where he tried to make the claim that Hillary Clinton started the rumor. However, not many people actually believed the theory, not even Trump.
According to Elizabeth Spiers, a former editor of the New York Observer, a paper once published by Jared Kushner, that she asked him how the paper should cover stories on Trump. “I told Jared that I was particularly appalled by his father-in-law’s birtherism stance, which I viewed as cynical and racist,” Spiers said on Twitter. “He rolled his eyes and said ‘He doesn’t really believe it, Elizabeth. He just knows Republicans are stupid and they’ll buy it.’”
The revelation came after Spiers found herself in a Twitter debate with a right-wing blogger. “Let’s be clear he was talking about you, Doug,” she says. “Trump did not con Democrats; he conned – and is still conning – his base. So you have every right to your gullibility and I won’t try to deprive you of it, but personally, I’d rather know what the hell is going on.”
Spiers also claimed that a friend of the president told her that Trump would “lie to you about what time of day it is, just for the practice.”
