Senator Kamala Harris, a member on the Senate Intelligence Committee, pushed Attorney General Jeff Sessions to answer her questions directly. Sessions responded in a way that has many members of congress, along with many American citizens, suspicious of Sessions.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions has been accused of ‘stonewalling’ after his answers to Senator Harris’ questions during the hearing were irrelevant.
Perplexed by how often Sessions claimed he could not recall details relevant to the questions at hand, Harris asked the attorney general if he had reviewed any emails, correspondence, and notes before coming in for the hearing. And then the Democratic senator asked the attorney general, in rapid-fire succession, whether he communicated with any Russian officials or businessmen during the 2016 campaign.
When Sessions began to provide wishy-washy answers to each, Harris interrupted, prompting him to reply: “You let me qualify. If I don’t qualify, you accuse me of lying, so I need to be correct as best as I can. I’m not used to being rushed this fast. It makes me nervous.”
Later Harris was once again cut off by Chairman Burr for not allowing a witness to answer her question.
Harris had been asking whether Sessions had asked to see any written rule giving him permission not to answer questions despite executive privilege not being invoked. Sessions would not answer, just saying he had spoken to lawyers.
People have taken to social media to voice their opinion of the heated questioning that took place during today’s Senate Intelligence hearing.

He’s stalling on purpose, not cause he gets nervous… That’s exactly why Harris stopped him. She knew exactly what he was doing.
