The investigations into Trump’s ties to Russia has recently picked up steam, and his recent meeting with Vladimir Putin hasn’t made him look innocent in the slightest.
According to sources, President Trump prohibited notes for more than two hours, and denied staff access to the meeting room in order to keep information from slipping out.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, Sergey Lavron, and former head of Exxon, Rex Tillerson all attended the meeting with President Trump; who is currently being investigated for potentially conspiring with Russia to win last year’s election.
Only six people attended the meeting: Mr. Trump and his secretary of state, Rex W. Tillerson; Mr. Putin and his foreign minister, Sergey V. Lavrov; and two interpreters.
The Russians had agitated to include several more staff members in the meeting, but Mr. Trump’s team had insisted that the meeting be kept small to avoid leaks and competing accounts later, according to an administration official with direct knowledge of the carefully choreographed meeting, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity around the matter.
Trump would tell you he’s innocent, but if this is true, why does he feel the need to have his meeting with Putin secret? Classified information? Perhaps, but keep this in mind — Last time Trump accidentally leaked classified info from his meeting with Russian officials.
President Trump certainly isn’t the brightest to make himself look suspicious while currently under investigation. I guess he’s been paying more attention to what MSNBC’s Morning Joe is saying about him than the more important things he should be worried about.
